Los Angeles based photographer, Lorne Resnick, was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Whether it’s hiking to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, exploring the giant sand dunes of the Grand Erg Occidental in the Sahara, rowing Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, walking Havana’s Old City, dog sledding in Greenland, facing down a charging bull elephant in the Masai Mara or white water rafting Victoria Falls River, his passion for travel and photography keeps him moving around the globe exploring different cultures and countries, capturing unique moments.
His pursuit of impactful and compelling images has led him to Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Greenland, Cuba, across Europe, to 22 countries in Africa and beyond. He lived in Amsterdam for six years working on fine art and commercial projects and spent more than a year each in Cuba and Africa shooting and exploring.
A multiple award winner for his commercial and fine art work (in 2005 he won the coveted Travel Photographer of the Year award), he currently has eleven fine art posters published of his travel work. His images have been exhibited in galleries across Europe and America and have been used commercially for annual reports, billboards, television, web sites and for worldwide advertising campaigns.
From his first book of photographs, Live in Concert: 10 years of Rock and Roll, published in 1987, to his latest work-in-progress, fine art coffee table book Cuba Dreaming, Lorne has always strived to create images that probe beyond the everyday facade to capture the essential meaning and character of his subjects.
Lorne and his experienced staff maintain full commercial global production capabilities from his studio in Los Angeles. A passion for excellence and dedication to detail have been the key to successful campaigns for international advertising clients including Cunard World Cruises, Lufthansa, British Airways, Mercedes Benz, BBC, Ford Motor Company, IBM, DuPont, Budweiser, Johnson & Johnson, Bacardi, Toyota and Jacuzzi Whirlpools.
Lorne and his crew can facilitate the flawless execution of commercial photographic projects on any scale. And his capabilities are not merely photographic in scope; Lorne has the vision and experience to be a true collaborator with an understanding of current market language and trends.
Lorne is passionate about creating the decisive moment, that unique instant that transforms photography into market language. By pushing, pulling, massaging, tweaking, maneuvering, directing and managing events, he drives ideas into that happy intersection where creativity and commerce connect. It is the place where his clients' needs are translated into compelling visual communication.
With the popular Museletter, a welcome resource for other photographers and advertising professionals, Lorne provides insights on creativity culled from the most respected thinkers on the subject coupled with examples of his latest travel photography, lifestyle photography, resort photography and advertising photography.
Lorne continually demonstrates his commitment to sharing his experience and insights not only with clients and creative professionals, but also with emerging fine art and travel photographers.
Whether your concept is fully realized or still in its fledgling state, Lorne can facilitate its translation to effective brand-enhancing market language.
